| At the core of the Canon Still Video Communication System, there is a compact camera, the RC-470, which looks quite similar with the existing silver compact ones of the same period but gives either 25 or 50 shots on a standard photo floppy diskette with 380,000 pixels. With this model capable of colour pictures, presented at the Photokina, Canon tried to catch both the press and the hobbyists attention. It had a twin-focal lens, 2/9 and 2.5/16. The other elements were a video player to project the images on a TV screen, a video printer that could deliver both single shots and contact sheets, and a laser color copier. In this respect Canon had already proven a true mastery.
